We have a salesman who sends a handwritten holiday card to each and every one of his customers every December. Hundreds of them.

Coincidentally he's also the highest-volume salesman in our 5-dealership auto group.

I am not surprised...I get tons of shit in my inbox from dealerships. I probably spend 5-10 minutes a day deleting all the garbage communications that come in. So something like this, that actually took some effort is special.

Look very carefully and see if you can make out pen depressions or other variations in the writing. I got something similar once and on close inspection, it was actually laser printed. If it is the real deal though, that's a hell of a dealership.

That's awesome. If I was in need of a VW, I would definitely give them my business then.

When I got the printed "hand-written" card, at first I was really impressed, but it just didn't look right. Then I was more annoyed with the deception. I know most people don't have time for something like that, and technically the card was still "personalized" by the dealership in a way, but it still felt disingenuous.

When I bought my Camaro, I got a thank you card with a small tin of cookies. The thought does count.
